yesterday was quite the day. i played hard all day at school. i was so excited to see mama! when she came to pick me up, i was playing nice with my friend, finnian. finny is super. he's nice and plays with me every day. i like it now that i can crawl around with him. so, we were playing by the toy shelves and mom was getting my bag ready to go when finnian decided he wanted to sit on my lap!!!! aaahhh!!! he's bigger than me. oh my gosh! he almost crushed me. boy did i let mom and my teacher, miss vicki, know real quick i wasn't happy. i didn't understand though...finnian wouldn't get off me though! so, mom took him off my lap and told me how he just wanted to play right next to me. i gave him a big smile and (in my own way) told him that it was okay (he seemed a little upset that i cried).
so, we got home and i ate a huge dinner! my new food this week is lentils. they're okay. not exactly super tasty, but i'm eating them and so far no allergic reaction. ha! mom thinks that makes her happy...she has no idea how happy i am when i feel good after eating something. so, dinner was chicken with carrots and lentils and peaches for dessert. i'm not sure where mom comes up with these combos, but apparently the chicken dish came like that. yikes! she's telling me my next new dish will be turkey! why do we eat birds?!? i hope the cook that makes my food takes all those fuzzy feathers off first!!!
after dinner, i got a bath. i got lunch in my hair at school. mom wasn't too happy. she kept saying it wasn't bath night and we didn't have time. oops. she usually tells me our schedule in the morning and she didn't yesterday. so, how was i supposed to know what we were doing that night!? well, the bath was fun! i got to have the window open (it's right above the bathtub...because i'm in the BIG tub now since i'm so big!) since it was so nice out. there was blue sky and the clouds were floating by as mama washed the food out of my hair. i didn't get to play with my 'little people' though. mama said they were made somewhere called china and she had to check and make sure they're safe (they are, don't worry). so, i just played with my bubbles.
when daddy came home, we were all ready to go. fresh and clean. tummies full. we went to aunt clara's house. she's grandma's sister (like auntie becky and my mama). i like aunt clara...she's always silly with me and love that! when we got there my daddy's mom was there, grandma!! she came all the way up here on a plane from this place called georgia. i've yet to go there, but mom and papa say we'll go sometime. she was bringing my cousin sharae home to detroit and will bring my cousin tracey back to georgia next week. so, while she's here, i get to visit with her a few times. i did "the shy thing" or "the clingy thing" (as mom is calling it), but i warmed up a bit after a while. i just love my mama and papa. do you blame me?! grandma was sweet though. she sat on the floor with me and just talked to me and let me get to know her. after a while, i let her hold me so i could have a picture taken with her. i got really tired though since it was passed my bedtime (it was already 9:30!), so we decided it was time to go home. my first visit with grandma was short, but i get to see her again maybe tomorrow or friday. and saturday we're all going to grandma flossie and grandad luke's!! i love it over there! maybe we'll see auntie kim and uncle ron and auntie joslyn and all my cousins and that cool dog, ace!? looks like mama will have to cook some on saturday...i think we may have a bbq for grandma!!!
