happy birthday to me!

i am officially one year old! i had a fabulous birthday! even though it was a really busy day for mom and daddy, i tagged along for the ride before the party started. mama had lots to do -- pick up the balloons and make sure the cake was done.
she and grandmama decorated my cake themselves the night before my party. i drove with daddy to grandma flossie and granddad luke's while mom finished getting some things. when mama got there, she started to set out the plates and get the tables ready for the food. i played with my cousins tamra and tyler while everything was getting done. the balloons were put out and daddy picked up dinner from a yummy restaurant called chicken shack. everyone (not me because i wasn't eating big boy food yet) had chicken, potatoes, cole slaw and rolls for dinner.

i didn't take a nap that afternoon and boy was that a mistake! i wasn't too energetic and a little cranky, i must admit. but, i made it through dinner and blowing out my 'number one' candle on my cake (with mom's help, of course) and opening my gifts. i got some neat things like my animal motion book, a ride on truck, lots of clothes, a piano (a play one...it's just my size), play phones that are like mom and daddy's, a special gift from my teacher miss natalie was my very first school photo, and my teacher miss jennifer gave me a special classic pooh blanket, and lots more. mama and papa said that they were giving me more swimming lessons for my special gift from them and then they gave me clothes and then took me for a photo shoot for my other gifts.

we passed out our favors to everyone of special songs that mean a lot to mama, papa and me and my favorite songs for the kids and then i got to try ice cream for the first time since i can't have cake. boy is ice cream good! mom hasn't given it to me again though...i wish she would...i have a sweet tooth just like she and daddy do! after that, around 8 pm i fell asleep finally. don't worry though, i woke back up around 9 and partied more until 11 pm! we finally packed up the cars and went home and i got to sleep for the night around 11:45. it was my latest night ever!! i had fun and it was a really special day.
