i forgot to tell you all about my last doctor visit! two weeks ago i went to the doctor for another check up. i got my tests back and dr. paul said my lead levels were nice and low (i guess that's a good thing), but my iron level was really low (a bad thing). i'm sorry i don't like meat a lot. mama calls me a "pseudo-vegetarian" and daddy likes to say i'm a "fake vegetarian." okay, so i like turkey dogs and chicken dogs and meatloaf, but that's about it. they give me lunch meat in my lunch for school and i don't know why. i only eat a few bites just because i'm hungry and unless i get yummy pasta (made of rice, of course), lunch meat is boring. so, dr. paul said since i'm not eating meat and he thinks i may have what doctors call "milk anemia" (i guess that means i've been drinking too much milk and eating too much dairy -- who doesn't love cheese and yogurt!) i have to drink more water and less milk and take a vitamin every day. that's right! i'm a big boy now and i take a flintstone's vitamin!
vitamins are great. i suck on it for a little while and then i take it out and look at it, then suck on it a bit more and then mama yells at me when i take it out of my mouth again. oh, yeah, probably because i smear the vitamin juice (she calls it my spit) all over my tray on my chair. vitamin time is great. it's always right after dinner when i'm tired and mom is tired and we're all starting to be sleepy for na-night time. that's what i call it, "na-night" and then i show mom and dad that i'm tired by putting my head down and i make a noise like i'm snoring.
so back to the doctor. when we were at the doctor i had to have another shot. the nurse was really nice and said she was sorry even before she gave it to me. she was really fast and it only hurt for a second. so when she was done i told mama "UP!!" because i'm not a baby anymore and i can stand up and do things on my own--plus my pants were still down and needed to be pulled up...ugh. mom just doesn't get it. and then i told the nurse "thank you"-except it still comes out as "day-doo." she thought it was the coolest thing! we walked out in the hallway when we were done and she told dr. paul what i said and all the other nurses. everyone kept telling me how cute i was and telling mama that she was so lucky. heh heh--mission accomplished! hee hee!
